The LoJack® system is designed to help law enforcement recover stolen vehicles quickly and safely. This case involves a 2008 Chevrolet Colorado, which was recovered in just over a half hour after activation, along with two shady suspects, a gun and items stolen from other victims.

On December 6th, 2013, the Chevy’s owners contacted the Lakewood Police to report that their vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the truck, which was installed at Emich Chevrolet in Lakewood, CO, was then automatically activated.

A very short time later, deputies with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office picked up the homing signals from the stolen truck on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles.  The deputies tracked the vehicle as it was traveling in the area of C-470 and Quincy Ave, and requested backup. After a brief pursuit, the Chevy was stopped and the driver and passenger, both of whom had multiple warrants, were taken into custody. In the truck, deputies found a pistol with an obliterated serial number and stolen identification and checks. The Colorado was soon returned to its grateful owners.
