Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Police Recover Stolen Toyota Camry in 25 Minutes Assisted by the LoJack® System

The owner of a Toyota Camry in Philadelphia, PA called local law enforcement right away when the car was discovered missing recently. Thanks to the LoJack® system installed when the vehicle was purchased, police recovered the Camry in less than a half hour after activation.

On December 12th, 2013, the Toyota’s owner reported the theft to the Philadelphia Police. Officers verified the crime and entered the stolen vehicle report into the Philadelphia Police Computer System, the Philadelphia Crime Information center and the Pennsylvania State Police Computer. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Camry, which was installed at Toyota of Runnemede, NJ.

A short while later, officers from the Philadelphia PD 2nd District picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers tracked the Toyota to Glenview Street, where it was parked at the curb and unoccupied. After recovery, the Camry was quickly returned to its happy owner.
