The LoJack® System Helps Spring Valley, New York Police Recover Stolen BMW 750 in 25 Minutes

When the LoJack® system is installed in the US, the LoJack will work in ANY LoJack-covered area in the US. This case is a great example- a BMW purchased in California is stolen and recovered in New York State in only 25 minutes after activation, thanks to local law enforcement assisted by LoJack.

On December 3rd, 2013, the BMW’s owner contacted NYPD’s 24th precinct to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the NYSPIN and NCIC state and federal crime computers. This action automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the 750, which was installed at North County BMW in Oceanside, CA.

A short while later, officers from the Spring Valley PD picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers located the BMW, parked and unoccupied in a commercial lot in Ramapo, NY. After a brief surveillance, the undamaged 750 was recovered and soon released to its happy owner.
