This Houston, TX resident might have been picking up some holiday surprises at the mall one recent Wednesday, but he got a surprise of his own- and not a pleasant one- when he discovered his Ford F-250 pickup had been stolen from the parking lot. His local police, assisted by the LoJack® system, were able to recover his truck in less than 20 minutes after activation.

On December 4th, 2013, the Ford’s owner contacted the Houston Police Department to report the crime.  Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the State and Federal crime computers.  This action automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the F-250, which was installed at Ron Craft Chevrolet Cadillac in Baytown, TX.

A short while later, an officer from the Houston PD picked up the homing signals from the stolen truck on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officer tracked the Ford to an apartment parking lot, where it was found parked and abandoned. The F-250 was recovered and soon returned to its relieved owner.
