It’s pretty certain that the Colorado residents in this case were upset to find their Ford Expedition missing from their driveway just after dinner one Wednesday evening. These victims received some good news that same evening thanks to the LoJack® system installed in their SUV. With the assistance of LoJack, their local police were able to recover their vehicle in less than 90 minutes after activation.

On November 13th, 2013, the Ford’s owners contacted the El Paso County, CO Sheriff’s Office to report the crime. The deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Expedition, which was installed at Caruso Pacific Ford in Long Beach, CA.

A short while later, troopers with the Colorado State Patrol picked up the signals from the stolen SUV with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The troopers tracked the Ford to Chiricahua Drive in Colorado Springs, where it was parked and abandoned. The Expedition’s owners were thrilled to have their undamaged vehicle returned to them in such a short time.
