Getting back to work on Monday morning is tough enough without this kind of problem. Just before 6 am on November 11th, 2013, the owners of a Ford F-250 discovered it was missing from their Hollywood, FL home. It’s a good thing they decided to have the LoJack® system installed when they bought their truck. With LoJack’s assistance, local law enforcement recovered the pickup in less than two hours after activation.

After discovering the crime, the Ford’s owner contacted the Hollywood Police Department. The responding officer prepared a stolen vehicle report and theft affidavit and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers. This routine police procedure automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the pickup truck, which was installed at World Ford Kendall in Miami, FL.

A short while later, officers from the Hollywood PD picked up the homing signal from the stolen pickup on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Ford was tracked to an apartment complex in Hallandale Beach, where it was parked and abandoned. After a short surveillance, the undamaged F-250 was recovered and soon returned to its grateful owners.
