When the owners of a Toyota Camry were carjacked at gunpoint in Baltimore, MD, they were lucky to walk away with their lives. These victims were also smart because they had the LoJack® system installed when they bought their car. With LoJack’s help, local police were able to recover the Camry, quickly and safely, later that same day.

On December 3rd, 2013, the victim contacted the Baltimore City Police Department. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Camry, which was installed at Anderson Honda in Baltimore, MD.

A short while later, detectives from the Regional Auto Theft Task Force (RATT) and flight officers in the Baltimore City Aviation Unit Foxtrot picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles and helicopter. The Toyota was located in an alley behind a building, where it was found parked and unoccupied. The undamaged Camry was recovered and quickly returned to its thankful owners.
