It was late on the night before Thanksgiving when the Lawrence, MA residents in this case discovered that their Honda Civic was missing from their home driveway where they had parked it earlier. The LoJack® system they had installed when purchasing their car enabled local police to recover it in just over five and half hours after activation.

On November 27th, 2013, the Honda’s owner contacted the Lawrence Police Department to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Civic, which was installed at Herb Chambers Honda in Seekonk, MA.

A short while later, officers from the Lawrence PD began picking up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers located the Honda on Bailey Street, parked and unoccupied behind a three decker apartment building. The Civic was soon returned to its thankful owners.
