The 2009 Honda Accord in this case was discovered missing from its owner’s Florida apartment complex parking space one Monday. Thanks to local police and the LoJack® system installed when the car was purchased, it was recovered in less than two hours after activation.

On October 21st, 2013, the Honda owner’s daughter contacted the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office to report the crime. Deputies prepared a stolen vehicle report and theft affidavit and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers. This routine police procedure automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Accord, which was installed at Braman Honda of Palm Beach in Green Acres, FL.

A short while later, a PBCSO deputy picked up the homing signal from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in his patrol vehicle. The deputy called for backup and located the Honda abandoned in a parking space on 10th Avenue North. The undamaged Accord was recovered and soon returned to the owner’s relieved daughter.
