Early one Monday morning, the owners of a 2010 Cadillac Escalade discovered their vehicle missing from their home in the Hammocks section of Miami, FL.  The victims knew the only way to activate the LoJack® system they had installed when purchasing their SUV was to contact law enforcement. Working together, local police and LoJack retrieved the stolen Escalade in less than 20 minutes after activation.

On November 11th, 2013, the Cadillac’s owner contacted the Miami-Dade Police Department to report their vehicle stolen. The responding officer prepared a stolen vehicle report and theft affidavit and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers. This routine police procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Escalade, which was installed at Arnold Palmer Cadillac in Pineville, NC.

Within minutes, Florida Highway Patrol troopers picked up the homing signal from the stolen SUV on the LoJack tracking computer installed in their patrol vehicles. The troopers located the Cadillac abandoned in an apartment complex parking lot near S.W. 87th Street and 147th Avenue. The Escalade was recovered and soon returned to its thankful owners.
