In the early evening hours of Tuesday, October 29th, 2013, the Kendall, FL residents in this case discovered their Toyota Corolla missing. Though it had been over three years since these victims had the LoJack® system installed when buying their car, LoJack was ready to help and assisted local police in recovering the Corolla in just 19 minutes after activation.

When they discovered the crime, the Toyota’s owners immediately contacted the Miami-Dade Police Department.. The responding officer prepared a stolen vehicle report and theft affidavit and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers. This routine police procedure automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Corolla, which was installed at Toyota of South Florida in Doral, FL.

A short while later, a Florida Highway Patrol trooper picked up the homing signal from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The trooper, along with their backup, located the Toyota parked and abandoned in a townhouse community lot. The Corolla was retrieved and quickly returned to its thankful owners.
