It was 9:00 pm on a Friday when this Philadelphia, PA resident found his 2013 Toyota Tacoma was missing. The unfortunate incident did not ruin his weekend, thanks to his local police and the LoJack® system. Working together, these two factors were able to recover the stolen truck in less than an hour after activation.

On November 22nd, 2013, the Tacoma’s owner contacted Philadelphia Police to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the pickup’s information into the Philadelphia Police Computer System and the Pennsylvania State Police Computer. The LoJack device concealed in the Toyota, which was installed at Toyota of Turnersville, NJ, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, officers from the Philadelphia PD 6th District picked up the homing signal from the stolen truck on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Officers located the Toyota parked and unoccupied in the area of 12th and Poplar Streets. The Tacoma’s owners were delighted to have their undamaged pickup returned to their possession.
