The LoJack® system is used by law enforcement to retrieve stolen vehicles quickly and safely. Sometimes a stolen car, truck, van or motorcycle is recovered so fast, it’s amazing- as in this case, when a Nissan Altima stolen in Fresno, CA, is located in just 10 minutes after activation.

On November 11th, 2013, the Nissan’s owner contacted the Fresno Police Department to report the incident. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the Altima, which was installed at Metro Nissan in Montclair, CA, was then automatically activated.

Just a few minutes later, an investigator from the Fresno office of the California Highway Patrol Investigative Services Unit picked up the homing signals from the stolen car with the LoJack tracking computer installed in his undercover vehicle. The investigator tracked the Nissan to a commercial parking lot near Belmont and Parkway Avenues, where it was parked and abandoned. The owner was thrilled to have his undamaged Altima returned to him in such a short time.
