This case involves a double recovery- a Toyota Tacoma was stolen in Las Vegas, NV, and, while using the truck’s LoJack® system to recover it in just over a half hour, police retrieved another stolen pickup as well.

On November 20th, 2013, the Toyota’s owner contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to report the crime.  After verifying the theft, officers entered the stolen truck information into the NCIC Stolen Vehicle System. This action automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Tacoma, which was installed at Pacific Toyota in Torrance, CA.

A very short while later, officers from the North Las Vegas Police- Northwest Station picked up the homing signal from the stolen truck on the LoJack tracking computer installed in their patrol car, along with Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Air 2 , whose crew pinpointed the signal’s location to a residential home on Mountain Glow Ave. Ground officers from the Southern Nevada Auto Theft Task Force were summoned and located the Toyota in the home’s garage, along with another truck stolen earlier that day. The undamaged Tacoma was recovered and soon returned to its grateful owners.
