The Las Vegas, NV residents in this case had last seen their 2013 Ford Focus when parking it two days earlier. It was quite a surprise when they found their vehicle missing. The LoJack® system they had installed when purchasing their car proved to be a great investment. With LoJack’s help, local law enforcement recovered the Focus in less than one hour after activation.

On November 20th, 2013, the Ford’s owner discovered the car was stolen and contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. After verifying the theft, officers entered the stolen vehicle information into the NCIC stolen vehicle system. The LoJack transponder hidden in the Focus, which was installed at Team Ford of Las Vegas, NV, was then automatically activated.

In less than an hour, officers with the Las Vegas Metro PD Downtown Area Command and the Nevada Highway Patrol began picking up the homing signal from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Ford was located in a commercial area on East Sahara Ave., abandoned in a parking lot. The undamaged Focus was swiftly returned to its grateful owner.
