When a 2011 Toyota Corolla was stolen in Baltimore, MD, the LoJack® system installed when the car was purchased proved to be a worthwhile investment. With LoJack’s help, local law enforcement retrieved the vehicle in less than four hours after activation.

On December 19th, 2013, the Toyota’s owner contacted the Baltimore City Police Department to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack transponder concealed in the Corolla, which was installed at Jones Toyota in Bel Air, MD, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, flight officers in the Baltimore City Aviation Unit Foxtrot picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computer installed in their helicopter. The flight officers tracked the Toyota to the Curtis Bay area of Baltimore City, where they found it parked and unoccupied. The undamaged Corolla was soon returned to its grateful owner.
