A casual Saturday morning soon became anything but for these Alexandria, VA residents when they discovered their Honda Civic was missing. The LoJack® system they had installed when purchasing their vehicle came to the rescue, assisting local police in recovering the car in less than three hours after activation.

On November 16th, 2013, the Honda’s owners contacted the Fairfax County Police Department. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the Civic, which was installed at Sheehy Honda in Alexandria, VA, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, an officer from the Fairfax County PD picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The officer tracked the Honda to the intersection of Grist Mill Woods Way and Mount Vernon Memorial Highway in Alexandria, where he found it parked and abandoned. The Civic was recovered and soon returned to its relieved owners.
