When the Georgia-based owner of a 2013 Honda Accord tried to get a little early Christmas shopping done in mid-November, the day turned into ‘Black Tuesday’ when he discovered his car missing from the parking lot. This smart shopper had already made an excellent purchase- he had the LoJack® system installed when buying his car earlier this year, so local police were able to recover it in less than two hours after activation.

On November 19th, 2013, the Honda’s owner reported the crime to the Atlanta Police Dept. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack device concealed in the Accord, which was installed at Honda Mall of Georgia in Buford, GA, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, a Georgia State Patrol trooper equipped began receiving the homing signal from the car on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The trooper located the Honda in the fenced yard of a repair shop. The undamaged Accord was quickly returned to its thankful owner and the repair facility remains under investigation.
