The last thing the trucker in this case expected when he parked at a truck stop in East Point, GA, was for his Kenworth tractor trailer to be stolen- but that’s exactly what happened. The LoJack® system hidden inside the machine helped local law enforcement make a quick recovery.

On October 23rd, 2013, the Kenworth’s owner contacted the East Point Police Dept. to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and immediately entered the vehicle’s information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the vehicle.

A short while later, the Spaulding County Sheriff’s Department helicopter began receiving the homing signal from the stolen truck on its onboard LoJack tracking computer. The flight crew located the Kenworth parked behind a repair shop. The tractor trailer, which was in good condition, was soon returned to its very grateful owner.
