This case involves a Chevrolet Silverado that had been converted into construction equipment with a tool box and a forklift built into the bed. The truck’s owner was upset to find it had been stolen from a construction site overnight. This owner was very glad he chose the LoJack® system installed in his expensively modified machine, because, with LoJack’s help, police were able to recover the pickup that same day.

On November 13th, 2013, the Chevy’s owner contacted the Pasadena Police Department and reported the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the pickup.

A short while later, a deputy from the Harris County Sheriff’s Department picked up the homing signals from the stolen pickup on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The deputy tracked the Chevy to an apartment complex, where it was parked and abandoned. The Silverado was soon returned to its relieved owner.
