Recently, in Puyallup, WA, an Acura Integra was stolen from its owner’s apartment complex parking lot sometime between late Sunday night and Monday morning. It took local police just a little over two hours to recover the car thanks to the LoJack® system hidden inside.

On November 10th, 2013, the Acura’s owner contacted the Puyallup Police to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle identification number (VIN) into the state and federal crime computers. That process automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Integra, which was installed at Vandergriff Honda in Arlington, TX.

A short while later, officers from Bonney Lake and Sumner PDs, and the Department of Wildlife received the homing signal transmitting from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol cars.  The officers tracked the Acura to 72nd Street East near Sumner where it was found parked and abandoned. The undamaged Integra was soon returned to its grateful owner. This was the fourth time that police assisted by LoJack had retrieved this vehicle after a theft.
