When the owner of a Ford F-350 pickup made a quick stop at a convenience store, the situation turned very inconvenient when his truck was stolen while he shopped.  His local police had an advantage in recovering the vehicle thanks to the LoJack® system he had installed when buying his F-350, which helped them recover it that same day.

On November 8th, 2013 the Ford’s owner contacted the Houston Police Department to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack transponder concealed in the F-350, which was installed at Champion Ford- Gulf Freeway in Houston, TX, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, a trooper from the Texas Department of Public Safety   picked up the homing signals from the stolen pickup on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The trooper tracked the Ford and located it parked and abandoned on a rural road in Harris County. The F-150 was recovered and soon returned to its grateful owner.
