Here’s one Halloween trick no one wants to receive- having your vehicle stolen from your residence. When this Port Hadlock, WA resident discovered his pickup missing on the morning of October 31st, 2013, he immediately called local police, who, with assistance from the LoJack® system, gave this victim a treat by recovering the truck in a little over an hour after activation.

The Toyota’s owner contacted the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle identification number into the state and federal crime computers. That process automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Tacoma, which was installed at Titus Will Toyota in Tacoma, WA.

A short while later, a Lacey PD officer and a Thurston County deputy received the homing signal transmitting from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol cars.  The officers located the Toyota parked and abandoned on Pacific Avenue SE in Olympia.  The undamaged Tacoma was soon returned to its very thankful owner.
