The old expression “With friends like these, who needs enemies?” comes to mind in this case where a Tacoma, WA resident had his Saab 93 stolen by someone he knew. The LoJack® system installed in his car came to his rescue by helping local police recover the 93 in just over a half hour after activation.

On November 2nd, 2013, the Saab’s owner contacted the Tacoma Police Department. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle identification number into the state and federal crime computers. That process automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Saab which was installed at Infiniti of Tacoma in Fife, WA.

A very short while later, a Pierce County Sheriff’s deputy received the homing signal transmitting from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol car. A suspect in the house was taken into custody. The victim was thrilled to get his 93 returned to him so soon. This was the second instance in two months the Saab had been stolen and recovered by police assisted by LoJack.
