The LoJack® system helps law enforcement track down stolen vehicles quickly, before the thieves have time to damage them, strip them, or take them far away. In this case, a Cadillac Escalade stolen from the Bronx, NY, is recovered the same day and returned without damage to its happy owner.

On November 5th, 2013, the Cadillac’s owner contacted the NYPD to report the crime.  Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers (NYSPIN/ NCIC). This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Escalade, which was installed at City Cadillac Oldsmobile in Long Island City, NY.

A short time later, officers from the Suffolk County PD First Precinct picked up the homing signals from the stolen SUV on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers tracked and located the Caddy to a commercial lot in West Babylon, where it was parked and unoccupied. The undamaged Escalade was soon returned to its owner’s residence.
