The GMC Yukon in this case was stolen early one Tuesday evening. The owner contacted local law enforcement right away, knowing that only they could activate the LoJack® system hidden in the SUV and facilitate a fast recovery- in this case, less than a half hour after activation.

On November 5th, 2013, the GMC’s owner called the police to report the crime. Officers entered the stolen vehicle’s information into the NCIC police computer. This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Yukon, which was installed at Quebedeaux Pontiac in Tucson, AZ.

A short while later, the flight crew from Phoenix Police helicopter Air 23 began picking up the homing signal from the stolen SUV with the LoJack Tracking Computer installed in their helicopter. The air crew located the GMC parked and abandoned in front of a duplex on West Pima Street. Ground units recovered the Yukon and soon returned it to its happy owner.
