The owners of a Honda Accord stolen in Salt Lake City, UT, knew they needed to contact police and report the theft in order to activate the LoJack® system hidden in their car. Police assisted by LoJack had recovered the vehicle when it was taken several times previously, and once again, LoJack did not let these victims down.

On September 29th, 2013, the Honda’s owners contacted the Salt Lake City Police to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle’s information into the State and National Stolen Vehicle File online. The LoJack unit hidden in the Accord, which was installed at Canyon Honda in Orange County, CA, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, an officer with the Salt Lake City PD began picking up the homing signal from the stolen car with the LoJack tracking computer installed in this patrol vehicle. The officer located the Honda parked and abandoned near 800 N. 900 West in Salt Lake City. The Accord’s owners were grateful to have their vehicle returned to them again, as this was the fifth incident where it was stolen, and then tracked and recovered by police assisted by LoJack.
