The 2010 Land Rover Range Rover in this case was stolen just after midnight on Halloween in Reno, NV. Despite the haunted date and the scary scenario, local law enforcement, with help from the LoJack® system, were able to recover the SUV in less than 90 minutes after activation.

On October 31st, 2013, the Land Rover’s owner contacted the Reno Police Department to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the NCIC stolen vehicle data base. This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Range Rover, which was installed at Hornburg Jaguar in West Hollywood, CA.

Less than two hours later, officers with the Reno PD began to receive the homing signal from the stolen SUV on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers then located the Land Rover being driven and performed a felony stop. One male suspect was taken into custody. The Range Rover, valued at $40,500, was soon returned to its thankful owner.
