The California resident in this case was vacationing in Las Vegas when his Lexus ES330 was stolen late one afternoon. This owner had not wanted to gamble with his vehicle’s safety, so he had the LoJack® system installed at purchase. LoJack turned out to be a smart bet for our victim, as it assisted police in recovering the ES 330 in just over an hour after activation.

On October 15th, 2013, the owner of the Lexus contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the NCIC Stolen Vehicle System. The LoJack device concealed in the ES330, which was installed at Lexus of Riverside, CA, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, an officer with the North Las Vegas PD Northwest Area Command began picking up the homing signal from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol car.  The officer tracked the Lexus to the area near Cheyenne and Decatur, where it was parked and abandoned. The ES330 was recovered and soon returned to its extremely relieved owner.
