When one of the owners of a Cadillac Escalade in Las Vegas, NV left work one Tuesday evening, their SUV was missing from the parking lot.   This victim didn’t have to worry for long, because the LoJack® system installed when the Escalade was purchased helped local police recover it in just over an hour and a half after activation.

On October 8th, 2013, the Cadillac’s owner immediately contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and a report was filed.  After verifying the theft, officers entered the stolen vehicle information into the NCIC Stolen Vehicle System. This procedure automatically activated the hidden LoJack transponder in the Escalade, which was installed at Desert Audi in Las Vegas, NV.

A short while later, officers with the LVMP Northeast Area Command began picking up the homing signal from the stolen SUV with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol cars.   The officers quickly tracked the Cadillac to an apartment complex, where it was parked and abandoned. The owners were thrilled when their Escalade was recovered and returned to them so quickly.
