The Las Vegas, NV resident in this case got to sleep late on a Monday morning, but received a rude awakening upon discovering that his Lexus LS400 was missing. The LoJack® system he had installed when purchasing his car proved its worth by helping local police recover the car in less than two hours after activation.

On September 16th, 2013, the owner of the Lexus contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.  After verifying the theft, officers entered the stolen vehicle information into the NCIC Stolen Vehicle System. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the LS400.

A short while later, officers with the LVMPD Southeast Area Command began picking up the homing signal from the stolen with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol cars.  The officers tracked the Lexus into the neighborhood near Burnham and Russell Road, where it was found parked and abandoned. The LS400 was recovered and soon returned to its happy owner.
