One of the owners of a Honda Accord in Fife, WA, made a bad move when he started the car and left it running and unoccupied in front of their residence. A thief took advantage of the situation and drove off with it.  The owners were then able to take advantage of a good move they had made in the past- they had the LoJack® system installed when they bought their Accord. Local police, assisted by LoJack, were able to recover the vehicle in just 14 minutes after activation.

On October 26th, 2013, the Honda’s owners reported the crime to the Fife Police Department. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle identification number into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the Accord, which was installed at Honda of Fife, WA, was then automatically activated.

A very short time later, a King County Sheriff’s K9 deputy received the homing signal transmitting from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol car.  He quickly tracked it to a parking lot of a convenience store located on Military Road South near Federal Way. After a brief surveillance, a male came out of the store and got into the driver’s seat.  He was immediately taken into custody and booked into jail.  The Accord’s owners were extremely relieved to have their car returned to them.
