When a Ford F-250 pickup owned by a  landscaping business was discovered missing from a job site, the company’s owners knew they had done the right thing by having the LoJack® system installed when they purchased their vehicle. Their local law enforcement, with help from LoJack, recovered their truck in less than two hours after activation.

On November 1st, 2013, the landscaping company contacted the Colorado Springs Police to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the F-250, which was installed at Colorado Springs Dodge in Colorado Springs, CO.

A short while later, patrol officers and detectives from the Colorado Springs PD picked up the homing signals from the stolen pickup with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles.  The officers located the Ford being driven in Old Colorado City.  After a moving surveillance, police apprehended the two suspects in a parking lot. It was discovered that one suspect was wanted on additional unrelated felony warrants, and both had unlawfully used a credit card left in the truck. The undamaged F-250 was soon returned to the grateful landscaping company.
