When a Toyota Camry was stolen overnight from its owner’s residence in Renton, WA, one Sunday morning, our victim knew just what to do. By calling local police and reporting the car stolen, the LoJack® system in the Camry was activated and helped officers recover the car just one half hour later.

On October 27th, 2013, the Toyota’s owner immediately contacted the Renton Police Department to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle identification number into the state and federal crime computers. That process automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Camry, which was installed at Magic Toyota in Edmonds, WA.

A short time later, a Renton PD officer received the homing signal transmitting from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking Computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The Toyota was recovered parked and abandoned in an apartment complex lot on Union Avenue NE in Renton.  The undamaged
Camry was soon returned to its relieved owner.
