Just after 10:30 pm on a Friday evening, these Philadelphia, PA residents discovered their Toyota Highlander had been stolen. Fortunately, the owners chose to have the LoJack® system installed when purchasing their SUV, so local law enforcement, assisted by LoJack, recovered the Highlander in just over a half hour after activation.

On October 25th, 2013, the Toyota’s owner contacted Philadelphia Police to report the crime. Officers verified the theft, prepared a stolen vehicle report and arranged to have the information entered into the Philadelphia Police Computer System, the Philadelphia Crime Information Center and the Pennsylvania State Police Computer. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Highlander, which was installed at Center City Toyota in Philadelphia, PA.

A short while later, Philadelphia PD officers picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers tracked the signal to N. 40th Street where the Toyota was parked and abandoned at the curb. The Highlander was recovered and soon returned to its relieved owners.
