The owners of the 2010 Hyundai Sonata in this case wanted to protect their investment, and chose to have the LoJack® system installed when they bought their car. When they discovered their vehicle missing one Saturday morning, they discovered the decision was a good one, as LoJack assisted their local police in recovering their Sonata in less than an hour after activation.

On October 19th, 2013, the Hyundai’s owners contacted the Lakewood, CO Police to report the incident. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the Sonata, which was installed at Enterprise Car Sales in Lakewood, CO, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, officers with both Denver PD and Lakewood PD picked up the homing signals from the stolen car with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles.  The officers tracked the Hyundai to an apartment complex on West Cedar Place, where it was parked and abandoned.  The Sonata was soon returned to its very grateful owners.
