The owner of a 2011 Honda Accord was leaving a gym in Saugus, MA, after a workout when she discovered her car missing from the parking lot. The LoJack® system installed when she bought her vehicle was ready to work as well- it helped local police recover her car in just over two hours after activation.

On October 29th, 2013, the Honda’s owner contacted Saugus Police to report the incident. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack device concealed in the Accord, which was installed at Herb Chambers Honda in Boston, MA, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, officers with the Malden PD began picking up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers located the Honda on Beach Street, where it was parked and abandoned. The Accord was soon returned to its relieved owner, who told police this was the second time that her car had been stolen and recovered by police assisted by the LoJack system.
