When a 2011 John Deere skid steer was stolen overnight from a new housing development job site in Bremerton, WA, the workers knew just what to do- they contacted local police, who activated the LoJack® system hidden in the machine. With LoJack’s help, the skid steer was recovered in less than an hour after activation.

On October 22nd, 2013, the construction company reported the crime to the Bremerton Police Department who entered the vehicle identification number into the state and federal crime computers. That process automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the skid steer.

A short while later, a trooper with the Washington State Patrol received the homing signal transmitting from the stolen machine on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his police vehicle.  The skid steer was located outside the fenced area surrounding a storage unit facility in Bremerton.  The undamaged John Deere, valued at $43,000, was soon returned to its relieved owners.
