The victim in this case was taking a lunch break from work in Linden, NJ, but when he got to the parking lot, his Toyota Camry was gone. The LoJack® system he had installed when purchasing his car was a wise choice on his part, as local police, assisted by LoJack, were able to recover his vehicle that same day.

On October 4th, 2013, the Toyota’s owner contacted the Linden Police to report that his vehicle had been stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Camry, which was installed at Route 1 Toyota in Avenel, NJ.

A short time later, a patrol officer from the Union County PD picked up the homing signals coming from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The officer tracked the Toyota to a parking lot on Route 440, where he found the vehicle abandoned. The Camry was soon returned to its relieved owner.
