When the Brooklyn, NY resident in this case noticed his Nissan Maxima missing from its parking place near his home, he immediately contacted local law enforcement, enabling them to activate the LoJack® system hidden in his car and recover it less than two hours later.

On October 23rd, 2013, the Nissan’s owner contacted NYPD’s 75th precinct to report his vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the NYSPIN and NCIC state and federal crime computers. The LoJack device concealed in the Maxima, which was installed at Bay Ridge Nissan in Brooklyn, NY, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, officers from NYPD’s 75th precinct picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers located the Maxima parked and unoccupied in a municipal lot. The undamaged Nissan was recovered and soon returned to its relieved owner.
