Late one Tuesday evening, the owner of a Chevrolet Impala SS discovered her vehicle was missing from where she had parked it in front of her home. The LoJack® system hidden in her Impala helped police locate it and return it to her without any damage.

On October 25th, 2013, the Chevy’s contacted the NYPD 72nd Precinct to report the crime. Officers took a written report and entered the vehicle’s information into the NYPD stolen vehicle computer and the NCIC national system.  This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed on the Impala, which was installed at Kristal Cadillac/Chevrolet in Brooklyn, NY.

A short while later, members of the Brooklyn South Street Crime Unit picked up the homing signal from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Chevy was located being driven in the Sunset Park section of Brooklyn. When the driver pulled into a gas station, he was apprehended. An investigation later revealed he had stolen the keys and the car. The undamaged Impala SS was soon returned to its relieved and grateful owner, who stated that without LoJack, her car would probably not ever been recovered.
