Perth Amboy, New Jersey Police Recover Stolen 2010 Honda Civic in 37 Minutes Assisted by the LoJack® System

Imagine waking up in the wee hours of the morning because of some noisy commotion outside. You look through the window, and your vehicle is gone! This scary scenario happened recently to a 2010 Honda Civic owner in Perth Amboy, NJ. The victim must have been glad she decided to have the LoJack® system installed when she bought her car, because, with LoJack’s help, her local police were able to recover her car in just over a half hour after activation.

On October 8^th, 2013, the Honda’s owner contacted the Perth Amboy Police Department to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack device concealed in the Civic, which was installed at Route 22 Honda in Hillside, NJ, was then automatically activated.

A short time later, a patrol officer from the Perth Amboy PD picked up the homing signals coming from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The officer tracked the Honda to a nearby shopping center where it was parked and abandoned. The Civic was soon returned to its thankful owner.
