The California resident in this case returned home from work one morning and discovered her GMC Yukon was missing. She learned her estranged husband had been to her residence to visit their son.  She then went to the suspect’s workplace and saw him driving her vehicle. At that point she contacted local law enforcement, who activated the SUV’s LoJack® system and recovered her car in less than an hour after activation.

On October 17th, 2013, the victim contacted the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department in Lakewood. Deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the Yukon, which was installed at Showcase Chevrolet Geo in Westminster, CA, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, deputies with the LASD Lakewood Station picked up the homing signals from the stolen SUV with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The deputies tracked the Yukon traveling near Hardwick Street and Downey Avenue and conducted a traffic stop. They found the estranged husband driving the vehicle and arrested him. The GMC was soon returned to its relieved owner.
