When the owners of a 2013 Honda Civic had their vehicle stolen in Hyattsville, MD, recently, they were glad they chose to have the LoJack® system installed when they purchased their car just seven months ago. Local law enforcement, assisted by LoJack, was able to recover the Civic in less than two and a half hours after activation.

On October 16th, 2013, the Honda’s owner contacted the Prince George’s County Police Department to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack transponder concealed in the Honda, which was installed at Sport Honda in Silver Spring, MD, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, officers from Prince George’s County PD picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers tracked the vehicle where it was traveling on Eldridge Street in Hyattsville. The police stopped the car and arrested the operator. The owner was very grateful to have his Civic returned to him.
