Mondays are difficult enough without having to deal with a stolen vehicle. The Colorado Springs, CO victims in this case had the foresight to have the LoJack® system installed when purchasing their 2009 Jeep Wrangler, so local police assisted by LoJack were able to alleviate their stress by recovering their car in less than two hours after activation, making their Monday just a little less manic.

On October 14th, 2013, the Jeep’s owners contacted the El Paso County, CO Sheriff’s Office to report that their car was stolen overnight from their residence. Deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Wrangler, which was installed at Centennial Chrysler Jeep in Centennial, CO.

A short while later, investigators with the Beating Auto Theft Through Law Enforcement (BATTLE) Auto Theft Task Force picked up the homing signals from the stolen vehicle on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The investigators located the Jeep in a parking lot on Knollwood Drive, where it was parked and abandoned. The Wrangler was soon returned to its very happy owners.
