The victim in this case was confronted one Saturday night by two male suspects who beat and robbed him, took his wallet and car keys, stole his BMW 325i, and left him unconscious in an alley. His local police, with help from the LoJack® system, were able to recover his car for him in less than a half hour after activation, hopefully easing a little of the stress from this truly horrible experience.

On October 13th, 1013, the victim contacted the Sacramento Sheriff’s Department to report the crime. Deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the California Stolen Vehicle System as well as the NCIC national system. This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the vehicle, which was installed at Savage BMW in Ontario, CA.

A short while later, deputies with the Sacramento Sheriff’s Department began to receive the homing signal from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computer installed in their patrol vehicles. The deputies then tracked and located the BMW parked and abandoned near the Downtown Mall. The 325i was soon returned to its grateful owner.
