The owner of a Honda Ridgeline pickup was shopping in a dollar store and placed her keys and phone on the counter while searching for something in her purse. While she looked, someone grabbed her keys and then stole her truck. The LoJack® system that was installed when she purchased her Ridgeline helped local law enforcement recover the truck and capture the thief as well.

On October 11th, 2013, the Honda’s owner contacted the Harris County Sheriff’s Department and reported the crime. Deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the Ridgeline, which was installed at Classic Chevrolet in Sugar Land, TX, was then automatically activated.

A short time later, the Texas Department of Public Safety helicopter, IDAHO 11, picked up the homing signals from the stolen pickup on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their airship. The air crew located the pickup traveling eastbound on FM 1960 and directed Liberty County deputies to the location. The Honda was stopped and the driver was taken into custody. The Ridgeline was soon returned to its relieved owner.
