This football loving resident of Las Vegas, NV, was enjoying a game at a local bar when he accidently dropped his keys in the men’s room without noticing. When he finally discovered his keys were gone, his 2013 Ford F-150 pickup was as well. What the thief didn’t know was that with this truck came the LoJack® system, so police were able to recover the pickup in just over two and a half hours after activation.

On October 13th, 2013, the Ford’s owner contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the stolen vehicle information into the NCIC Stolen Vehicle System. The LoJack device concealed on the F-150, which was installed at Team Ford in Las Vegas, Nevada, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, an officer with the LVMP Northeast Area Command picked up the homing signal from the stolen truck with the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The officer tracked the Ford and found it parked and abandoned near the intersection of Tiberio Way and Piazza Cavour Drive. The undamaged F-150 was soon returned to its happy owner.
