When the Phoenix, AZ based owner of a 2008 Honda CR-V saw a man flagging him down and yelling for help, he thought he was doing the right thing by stopping his car. It turned out to be a big mistake when the man pulled a gun on the driver and drove away in his vehicle. The LoJack® system installed in their CR-V helped save the day by assisting local police in recovering the car in just 19 minutes after activation.

On September 29th, 2013, the victim then called Phoenix Police to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the stolen vehicle information into the NCIC police computer. This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack device, which was installed at Showcase Honda in Phoenix, AZ.

A very short time later, Phoenix PD officers from the Cactus Park Precinct began picking up the homing signal from the stolen car with the LoJack tracking computers installed in the police vehicles. The officers tracked the Honda to West Sweetwater Drive, where they observed it stopped in the front yard of a residence after running into landscaping. The CR-V was recovered and soon returned to its grateful owners.
