Late one Monday afternoon, this Ocean Hill, Brooklyn, NY resident discovered his Saturn Vue missing from in front of his house. Thanks to the efforts of his local police, with the help of the LoJack® system, his car was recovered and a surprising suspect identified as well.

On October 7th, 2013, the Saturn’s owner contacted the Ocean Hill Brooklyn 81st Precinct to report that his vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft, took a written report, and entered the information into the NYPD stolen Auto Computer and the national NCIC computer. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed on the Vue, which was installed at Valley Stream Motors in Valley Stream, NY.

A short while later, officers from the Staten Island Task Force picked up the homing signal from the Saturn on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers tracked the vehicle to a residential area in Mariners Harbor, where they found the car parked on the street. After a short surveillance, two females approached the vehicle and entered it. They were immediately taken into custody. One of the suspects was a friend of the victim’s granddaughter and had taken the keys during a brief visit to the victim’s home. The Vue’s owner was relieved to have his undamaged car back in his possession.
